| 抄録(和) | サル頭頂連合野AIP野では手操作運動に関連する活動が記録されている.本研究では,手操作運動に関する情報がAIP野でどのように表現されているかを調べるため,6種類の操作対象を用いた到達把持運動中のニューロン応答について,操作対象の分類に関する情報量の経時的変化を求めた.その結果,手操作運動の異なる課題区間(注視,到達運動,把持)に応じて情報量は変化した.また,いくつかのニューロンでは,6種類の操作対象をまず2つのグループに分類した後,それぞれのグループを細分化していることを表す結果が得られた.これらの結果は,AIP野のニューロンは,手操作運動に関する大まかな情報と詳細な情報を時間を分けて階層的に表現していることを示唆する. |
| 抄録(英) | We analyzed spike activities of the monkey anterior intraparietal area (AIP) to reveal how the brain represents information related to hand manipulation. During the hand manipulation task, many AIP neurons respond selectivity to the 3D shape, orientation and size of the objects to be grasped and/or the hand configuration to grasp them. Here, we calculated mutual information (MI) between spike frequency of single neurons and various clusters of 6 objects, and examined how MI changed dependent on different task periods (i.e., fixation, reaching and grasping) for each clustering. MI took peak values in different periods dependent on clustering types: For some neurons, MI for rough clustering had the peaks in the fixation period while MI for fine clustering had the peaks in the reaching or grasping period. This suggests that AIP neurons many represent information relevant to the hand manipulation in a hierarchical manner, that is, different grains of information in different periods. |
