Abstract(in English) | In MIMO-OFDM mobile communications, subcarrier phase hopping-selected mapping (SPH-SLM), which can achieve both the improvement of transmission performance in frequency selective fading environments and the peak-power reduction of the transmitted signal, is applied to a transmission system with the nonlinear transmit power amplifier (PA), and improvement effects on both spectrum of the transmitted signal and packet error rate (PER) are shown. SPH-SLM increases the frequency diversity gain due to channel coding by rotating the phase of each subcarrier. And, it prepares some patterns for phase rotation and selects the pattern which minimizes the peak to average power ratio (PAPR). Specifically, in 4×4 MIMO-OFDM system, computer simulations are conducted to clarify the effect that the nonlinear distortion degrades the spectrum of the transmitted signal and the transmission performance, when the PAPR-reduced signal by SPH-SLM is input to PA. The simulation results demonstrate that SPH-SLM with the number of phase patterns U=16 can reduce 3.1 dB at PAPR of CCDF=10^<-3> in comparison with the normal MIMO-OFDM. In addition, it can reduce the out-of-band radiation at 20 MHz by more than 5 dB, when the input back-off (IBO) is set to 8 dB. Furthermore, with respect to the transmission performance, it is shown that SPH-SLM can improve PER in QPSK of R=1/2 and 16QAM, 64QAM of R=3/4, and that a lower limit of IBO which the nonlinear distortion hardly affects PER is 6 dB in SPH-SLM. |
