Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a method for generating digests of baseball videos using the telops. A telop is the characters or figures which are added to the videos when they are broadcasted. There are several kinds of telops in baseball videos, for example, the ones for indicating the score, for introducing players, and so on. By investigating the real broadcasted baseball videos, we found that there were 3 kinds of telops and 4 kinds of shots were important for our digest generation. Thus, we distinguish these shots using color histogram and templete matching. As the result, we could generate 2 kinds of digests by which we could easily understand the progress of game situation.
