Construction and preliminary analysis of a large-scale bone-conducted speech database

Abstract(in English) We constructed a large-scale speech corpus that contains bone-conduction speech as well as air-conduction speech, and conducted speaker identification experiments using this corpus. The corpus contains utterances collected from more than 300 male and female Japanese aged from 18 to 76 years old. Each speaker uttered 100 Japanese syllables, 66 words, and 64 sentences twice at one recording session. Recording sessions were performed twice several months apart. In addition to the directly recorded bone-conduction and air-conduction speech, the speech over mobile phone was also recorded. Using the constructed corpus, text-dependent speaker identification experiments were conducted. Comparing the results of the bone-conduction speech to that of the air-conduction speech, the performances of the air-conduction speech was better than the other.
