Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A system which outputs a more natural voice converted from extremely small articulated signals had been proposed as a speaking-aid system for laryngectomees, whose vocal folds were removed due to laryngeal cancer and so on. Small sound sources may be problematic since articulated speech may not be heard even by the speaker. Therefore, in this paper, changes of articulation are examined for the cases that the speaker is or is not given detected signals with a microphone as his auditory feedback with some background noise. From a preliminary subjective evaluation, it is quantitatively demonstrated that a user speaks with more stable articulation if detected speech with a microphone is presented. Moreover, influence of using different sound sources on voice conversion has not been revealed. Consequently, several small sound sources are designed to investigate the influences on statistical voice conversion accuracy. Sound sources are designed by changing spectral envelope and average power independently. Objective and Subjective evaluations are conducted to demonstrate that differences in sound sources less affect the voice conversion accuracy unless the power of the input speech is almost equal to that of the backgrond noises. |
