Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) On the basis of statistical mechanics of the Q-Ising model, we formulate the problem of inverse-halftoning for the threshold mask method. Then the Markov-chain Monte Carlo simulation for a set of snapshots of the Q-Ising model and a standard image indicates that the performance of our method depends on the fine structure introduced into the pattern of the original image through the procedure of digital halftoning and that our method achieves better performance in the case that the edge length of the halftone image is shorter.
