Optical control in a triple quantum disk-waveguide structure

Abstract(in English) We prepared a GaAs/AlGaAs triple quantum disk (TQD) located near the GaAs quantum well (QW) waveguide for the realization of all-optical devices. Since the electronic states in the TQD were easily controlled by the optical injection, we observed the optical spectra obtained from the waveguide under the various intensities of optical injection. The spectral change was observed around the characteristic wavelength of the TQD through the evanescent part of the propagating light in the waveguide. We interpret this change as the reconstruction of electronic states in TQD due to the optical excited carriers, proving detection of electronic state changes in the TQD with the traveling light in the waveguide.
