Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Transition metal dichalcogenides like WSe_2, MoSe_2 are particularly interesting materials for applications in PEC solar cells. Among these MoSe_2 has considerable interest due to its well-matched band gap with solar spectrum as well as due to unique layer lattice structure. Thin films of MoSe_2 have been prepared by soft selenization technique from high purity molybdenum foil (Aldrich 99.999 %) and selenium granules (Nuclear fuel complex 99.999 %). Soft selenization technique is a temperature dependent process which produces device quality films. The obtained MoSe_2 films are characterized by XRD, SEM and electrical measurements. X-ray diffraction studies confirm that the films are polycrystalline having hexagonal structure. Scanning electron micrographs reveals that the grains are closely packed with uniform distribution of lamellar structure. The semiconductor parameters of the film like doping density, band bending, valence band edge etc., are derived from Mott-Schottky plot. The results reveal that the MoSe_2 films prepared under optimized conditions, show semiconductor nature and can be effectively used for the fabrication of efficient PEC solar cells.
