Developing recordable medium with amorphous chalcogenide material for HDDS

Abstract(in English) In the present works, we investigated the applicability of amorphous chacogenide thin films as a high density medium for HDDS(holographic digital data storage). It was evaluated by taking into consideration the photoinduced and Ag photodoping effects. The basic characteristics of amorphous chalcogenide bulk and thin film were analyzed by DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry). We was formed the holographic grating in the chalcogenide As_<40>Ge_<10>Se_<15>S_<35> thin films by using a linearly polarized He-Ne laser (632.8 nm Eg=1.96 eV) and Diode Pumped Solid State laser (DPSS, 532.0nm Eg=2.34 eV). We evaluated the relationship between the holographic optical recording and Ag photodoping in the chalcogenide films by AES (Auger Electron Spectroscopy) depth profile. The result is shown that the diffraction efficiency of Ag/AsGeSeS double layer thin film is lager than that of AsGeSeS single layer and AsGeSeS/Ag/AsGeSeS multi layer thin film. The maximum grating diffraction efficiency was using He-Ne laser, which is lager than that of DPSS laser. But the recording speed of DPSS laser is higher than that of He-Ne laser.
