Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed the speech noise reduction system based on a modified discrete Fourier transform (MDFT). The MDFT decomposes a noise added speech signal into frequency signals. On each decomposed frequenct signal, signal and noise spectra (levels) are detected in real-time using signal and noise level detectors, respectively. By subtracting the noise spectrum (level) from the signal spectrum (level), a speech level is estimated and then it is multiplied to the decomposed frequency signal. However, the decomposed frequency signal contains a noise element; therefore, it is not suitable for reproducing the speech signal. In this paper, we propose to use a white signal, which is decomposed into sinusoidal waves by the MDFT. This is also effective on generating phase relations between the signals. The proposed function of reproducing sinusoidal signals is embedded in the speech noise reduction system and then the effectiveness is evaluated through computer simulations.
