Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Traditional interpolation methods, the bilinear, the bicubic, and so on, are very simple and widely used, however it is well known that the problem of juggles arises. In order to solve the problem, this report proposes a luminance gradient based adaptive image interpolation method. In this method, we first factorize an interpolation kernel to a zero-hold kernel and the remain part, make multi-dimensionally extended zero-hold functions, and then select a suitable kernel from them adaptively using the luminance gradient. The factorization enables us to decrease the quantities of operations and memories.
