Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is proposing the Global Change Observation Mission (GCOM) as a long-term monitoring system for understanding of global climate change, etc. The Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 (AMSR2), the one of the observing sensors onboard the GCOM satellites, is the follow-on instrument of AMSR onboard the ADEOS-II satellite and AMSR-E onboard the EOS-PM1. AMSR2 is a multiband radiometer receiving low level radio frequency emission radiated from the surface of the earth and the atmosphere. In this paper, the status of design including the summary of the AMSR2 mission, the sensor specification, and the sensor configuration is reported.
