Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to solve the trade-offs between the properties of long-haul transmission fibers, we investigated about the possibility of improving the optical properties by utilizing a Restrict Mode Excitation method to the fiber design. The Aeff of the latter fiber of the MDF which is a kind of dispersion management fibers (N-MDF) was successfully enlarged from conventional value of 32μm^2 to 53μm^2. Furthermore, the dispersion slope of NZ-DSF for submarine (Low dispersion type NZ-DSF for submarine) was successfully decreased from the conventional 0.05 ps/nm^2/km to -0.04 ps/nm^2/km. Single mode transmission was confirmed by the pulse propagation experimentation.
