A Highly Parallel Processor IMAPCAR and Its Application to In-vehicle Image Recognition Systems

Abstract(in English) The processor LSI which can process many kinds of image recognition tasks in real-time for many situations is required to realize the advanced safety vehicles. A highly parallel SIMD processor IMAPCAR have been developed, which integrates many simple processor elements and flexibly accessible image memory blocks. This paper describes how the IMAPCAR meets the requirements for in-vehicle image recognition applications, as well as the performance examples to future applications.
