Feature Extraction of Leaf Shape Using Centroid-Contour Distance Algorithm

Abstract(in English) Plant recognition is important for biology and agriculture. In this paper we pay our attention to feature extraction of leaf shape to contribute to automatic plant recognition. A method called CCD (Centroid-Contour Distance) coding algorithm to represent the shape of a leaf in terms of lobation and margin from ontology approach has been known. The algorithm derives the code from a CCD graph of the distance from the gravity center by tracing the contour. Focusing on the CCD coding algorithm, we propose a coding method that is faster and more accurate than the previous methods.
