Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we consider the security evaluation of intrusion tolerant systems with preventive maintenance subject to DoS (Denial of Service) attack. More specifically, we develop two semi-Markov cost models, and evaluate quantitatively the effect of preventive maintenance in the intrusion tolerant systems, in terms of the long-run average cost. The optimal preventive maintenance schedules are analytically derived to minimize the long-run average costs. We further perform the sensitivity analysis of the model parameters through numerical experiments.
