Abstract(in English) | Simple left-handed ferrite waveguide modes in the metal waveguide below cutoff were investigated in this paper. Surface mode and volume mode of Faraday rotation type were found with backward characteristics under negative permeability and permittivity frequency region, which are compared to magnetostatic surface wave modes influenced by metal plate, and magnetostatic backward volume mode. Their left-handed ferrite modes were confirmed by experiments using a single crystal of YIG slab. Applications of the mode were discussed briefly with compact filter and gyrator. |
