Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Fundamental frequency estimation is indispensable to copy down a melody. In this paper, we propose a new fundamental frequency estimator using a band-pass filter (BPF) which is obtained as an inverse notch filter. The BPF can extract the fundamental frequency of a melody when the fundamental frequency and the center frequency of the BPF are the same. Hence, we can estimate the fundamental frequency from an observed signal by using a parallel BPF whose center frequencies correspond to the frequencies of pitch names. Simulation results show that the proposed fundamental frequency estimator based on the parallel BPF has a high estimation accuracy whether a noise exists of not.
