| 抄録(英) | This paper proposes a novel driver support system named DAMS (Dynamic Angling Mirror System) for enhancing recognition of a vehicle on the area alongside and offset to the rear behind the host vehicle when a driver of the host is changing lanes. The DAMS moves the side-view mirror dynamically when another vehicle entered the blind spot. A cognitive experiment with a driving simulator had been conducted to investigate effects of the DAMS on driver's awareness of a vehicle in the blind spot. The result showed that the participant's subjective evaluation of DAMS was as high as the that of a conventional driver support system which lits a lamp when a vehicle exists in the blind spot. Moreover, participants could recognize the vehicle in the blind spot more easily when using the DAMS than when using the conventional system. |
