Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multiplexing is an important technique that provides very high-speed data transmission with a limited bandwidth in next generation mobile communication systems. Different data streams are simultaneously transmitted from different antennas using the same carrier frequency. At a receiver, it is necessary to separate the signals transmitted from different antennas. Accurate channel estimation for channels between transmit and receive antennas is required for MIMO demultiplexing. In this paper, we propose minimum mean square error (MMSE) channel estimation using cyclic delay pilot transmission. We evaluate by the computer simulation the bit error rate (BER) performance with the proposed channel estimation and compare it to that with the conventional time-multiplexed pilot based channel estimation.
