Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Experimental studies of multi-frequency ultrasonic imaging by simultaneous transmission of 2MHz and 8MHz pulses are carried out. Secondary waves are generated due to nonlinear acoustic effects. Multi-frequency images are formed by extracting these frequency components from the echoes. In this study annular type PZT transducers are used as transmitters and PVDF piezo-film which is used as a receiver is bonded on the surface of PZT transducers. Commercially available mechanical sector scanner equipped with these transducers is used for experiments on the phantom and pork meat imaging. As a result, images of secondary waves as well as primary waves are successfully obtained by the imaging system and speckle reduction is confirmed by superposing the resultant images.
