Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to meet the increasing demands of air traffic and keep the safety of airspace, ENRI is studying the improvement of conflict detection method in RDP (Radar Data Processing System). It helps air traffic controllers by predicting aircraft positions, detecting aircraft proximities and calling attention to them. We have simulated conflict alert function under operational environments, with the focus on prediction time. Conventional detection method consists of LP-CDM (Linear Prediction - Conflict Detection Method) and FP-CDM (Flight Plan - Conflict Detection Method). LP-CDM predicts aircraft positions by using current aircraft positions and velocity vectors based on linear extrapolation. FP-CDM utilizes flight plan information in addition to those used in LP-CDM. As a result, both the numbers of conflict alert by LP-CDM and FP-CDM are almost proportional to the length of prediction time. The numbers of conflict alert by FP-CDM are strongly correlated with those by LP-CDM.
