Abstract(in English) A parametric loudspeaker whose directivity is very sharp is promisingly expected as a directive aodio system. The loudspeaker has been technically developed and advanced for practical use so far. However, several problems remain still unclear such as sound quality and conversion efficiency. To overcome such problems, we propose the Weaver SSB modulation for a carrier ultrasound in place of the conventional envelope modulation. It has been shown experimentally that the Weaver modulation is superior in less distortion and linearity to the envelope modulation.
