Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An NRD guide / microstrip line transition was investigated from the viewpoints of easy fabrication and reproductibility. Because it was necessary to solder an L-shaped mount made from a metal bolck together with the ground plane of the microstrip line, the performance of the transition was uneven due to ununiform distribution of the solder. To overcome such difficulty, a new type of NRD guide / microstrip line transition was devised, and thus the fabrication process and the reproductibility were improved. Moreover, unwanted waves generate in the dielectric substrate can be suppressed by changing the permittivity of the dielectric substrate from high ε to low ε.
