Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a lossless data hiding method in the spatial domain for image authentication. A data hiding method distorts an image imperceptively to embed data into the image. A lossless data hiding method not only extracts hidden data from the distorted image but also recovers the original image from the distorted image. This feature fits medical and military applications. The proposed method divides an image into blocks. It generates hash in each block and the generated hash is embedded into the corresponding block. This hiding process is applied to an image multiple times under the conditions that the block size and the origin of the coordinate of blocks vary each time. The proposed method superior to the conventional method in precise tamper localization by this multi-tiered data hiding. Moreover, the proposed method serves unequal tamper detection. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
