An analysis of telecommunication network reliability using weighted unavailability with outage scale

Abstract(in English) In IP networks, the period from the design to the deployment tends to shorten, and there are many replacements of equipment or updates software while operation. Therefore, network administration through operation and maintenance is more important to keep or improve the reliability economically. The author had been proposed a simple estimation method of the network reliability with outage scale. This result is consistent with existing formula to compute unavailability, however, this result does not take account of the social influence. Therefore, the author also proposed a discriminant method for network reliability using outage scale and inquiries by users with weight generated by outage time and traffic pattern and presented an example of social disservice, which is basic concept for the reliability design for telecommunication networks. In this paper, we propose a method to analyze the reliability condition for networks which uses the reliability model derived from social disservice and weighted estimation method based on mentioned above. Morever, the strength of proposed method through outage data analysis is also shown.
