Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is difficult to deploy the broadband access infrastructure in small isolated islands. To solve this problem, it is so effective to develop with IEEE802.11b and IEEE802.11g wireless LAN techniques. We report an experimental deployment of our wireless LAN system to Tairajima, an isolated island of Kagoshima, and find decreases of network traffics. The decreases seems to cause visibilities and length between access points, and the WDS (Wireless Distribution System). The WDS is a system that enables to connect between access points wirelessly. For checking effects of the WDS, we develop WDS topological model, which gives information of topology effects.
