Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Noise robust speech processing methods have been widely used in isolated word recognition. It works effectively with steady noise. However, in real environment, some noises are often time invariant, and causes the degradation of its performance. We propose a noise robust method using modulation cepstrum processing. It is based on the theory of modulation spectrum analysis. As a result of the isolated word recognition experiment where modulation cepstrum is controlled, higher recognition rates was obtained especially in lower SNR environment compared with baseline method. In this report, we would discuss of this effect.
