Abstract(in English) Human's writing action is a kind of intelligent and specific physical motion. Personal verification by handwriting time series, which is generated by human's writing action, is a class of biometrics technologies and has been widely studied. Personal verification by handwriting is classified into two categories; on-line and off-line approach. In order to achieve the verification by the former approach, it is necessary to develop the efficient measurement that captures the dynamic individuality in handwriting time series. Thus, we proposed translation error as a novel efficient measurement in our earlier research. In this work, we report our study on the characteristics of the translation error.
