Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Due to recent affairs in our society, the safety of the car is strongly required. As the environmental traffic information, the direction estimation of approaching vehicles using a driving sound source has been investigated. This gives information of approaching vehicle to drivers at intersection with bad visible condition. For traffic accidents prevention, it is necessary to detect the direction of approaching vehicles more accurately and rapidly. This paper describes the direction estimation of approaching vehicles using uniform linear microphone array with four microphones. We applied a correlation method to the sound source localization and we propose a direction estimation method combined cubic spline interpolation process. Estimation results applied to approaching vehicles sound are shown. It is shown that the results have good performance.
