Measurement Results of Spectrum Usage for Cognitive Radio System

Abstract(in English) This paper reports measurement results of spectrum usage from 3GHz to 12GHz for short-range cognitive radio systems. By using a measurement system which has wideband antenna and spectrum analyzer, received power was receded every 2.875 seconds for a day under an office environment. Based on the measurement results, usage ratio and usage tendency have been analyzed at each 1MHz frequency band. From 3GHz to 5.5GHz, the measurment results indicate high usage ratio. On the other hand, from 5.5GHz to 12GHz, spectrum usage shows low usage ratio. Furthermore the results show that the probability density function of arrival interval of detected signal is approximated to exponential distribution, and that the arrival model can be considered to be random call model.
