Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents "Research and Development of Cognitive Radio" which is one of the projects by Ministry of Internal Affaires and Communications entitled "Research and Development for Radio Resource Enhancement". Various wireless systems will be introduced and co-exist in the future mobile access network. So, a cognitive technology to improve spectral efficiency is strongly required. A cognitive radio network including terminals and base stations supporting multi wireless systems will be introduced. A routing control mechanism for a concurrent use of multi radio interfaces and multi wireless systems is required to operate the network. Adaptive and flexible use of various wireless systems will actualize a stable and flexible communication which exceeds a current seamless communication technology. A multihop relay communication will contribute to the spectral efficiency. In this paper, a cognitive routing mechanism (multi path, multi link, packet relay link) and a route discovery are introduced.
