The latest trend of Japanese mobile communications policies toward the efficient usage of radio spectrum

Abstract(in English) In Japan, expansion of the use of various forms of radio systems such as wireless LAN, RFID, ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) advances as well as mobile phone systems. In order to realize an ubiquitous network society charming the world, responding to the expansion of the use of various forms of radio systems speedily and precisely, development of more strategic radio spectrum policies are necessary. Taking account of this situation, for the purpose of promotion of wireless industries and improvement of convenience of the nation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications conducts various radio spectrum initiatives to promote the efficient use of radio spectrum which is limited national resources. This report introduces the latest trend of Japanese policies of mobile communications systems which are taking a core role of wireless systems.
