Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multiple-lambda optical networks envision virtual Terabit LAN in geographical scale, and two of its key technical challenges are to provide user network interface (UNI) with scalability and controllability. For these challenges a new five-year project "Lambda Access" has been funded in Japan by NICT (Nation Institute of Information and Communications Technology). This talk reviews the project that focuses on network access at 100Gbps and beyond with single- or multiple-lambda interface, as well as its cooperation with the other NICT-funded project "Lambda Utility".
