Abstract(in English) | To control an optical buffer implemented with multiple optical fiber delay lines switched by optical switches, packet drop probability can be decreased by packet reordering to assign a shorter delay line for a latter packet than for a former packet and, as a result, output the latter packet faster than the former packet, especially when differences between lengths of the fiber delay lines are large. A control circuit for easy planar implementation is designed with pipelined logic for real-time control and is evaluated with simulation. |
