Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Non-uniform membrane property in dendrite is one of important determinants for manner of information integration in neurons, and therefore its distribution is important for information processings in brain. It is known that in the distal dendrite, many synaptic inputs are received and important information processings such as synaptic plasticity are performed. However, membrane property in distal dendrite is unclear since its direct measurements are difficult. To estimate membrane property in distal dendrite, we performed numerical simulation of membrane responses to perturbation to single neuron, using compartment model with non-uniformity of membrane property, and we compared numerical results with those observed in the hippocampal CA1 slices using optical recordings. Estimated membrane resistance at distal dendrite is lower than that at proximal dendrite and it was suggested that there is a steep decrease in the passive membrane property between distal and proximal dendrites.
