Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There is a stroke extraction technique that Sugie's proposed in case of characteristic quantity extraction in case of offline handwriting recognition processing. However, Sugie's technique was to do the technique being which depended on the extraction result of the outline. With the character crushing, and so on, when the right outline could not be extracted, it wasn't possible to have done the extraction of the stroke. Therefore, in this research, the line width of the pen character proposes a technique of the correction of the character crushing which used a distance change, aiming at changing hardly about one character. First, it does a distance transform to the input image and it makes the distance value, which emerges most to the core line part a core line distance value. Then, it supposes that the part, which has a core line distance value, is not crushing and it extracts the part. Also, it confirmed the effectivity of the proposal technique by the experiment.
