Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Desynchronization of feature sequences and its effect in online character recognition based on elastic matching are investigated. The investigation has provided the following results. First, desynchronized use of features (e.g., x-coordinate and y-coordinate) realizes the wide-range shape adaptation between character patterns. Second, local desynchronization is quite useful to improve the recognition accuracy.
