| 抄録(和) | Evolved UTRANにおけるハンドオーバでは,パケットロスを減少させるため,移動元基地局に残留する移動局宛のパケットは移動先基地局に転送(フォワーディング)するという方式が適用可能である.フォワーディングが実行されると,移動先基地局では,フォワーディングされるパケットが上位局から流入するパケットに飛び越されることにより,移動局では,パケットの到着順序が反転しTCPのスループットが劣化する可能性がある.このため移動局では,ハンドオーバ時にパケットのリオーダリングが実行される.しかし,フォワーディングやリオーダリングがTCP伝送特性に与える影響は十分に調査されておらず,適切なシステム設計のため詳細を検討することが不可欠である.そこで本稿では,計算機シミュレーションによりフォワーディング方式のTCP伝送特性を明らかにする.数値結果よりリオーダリングに関するパラメータ設計方法を検討し,フォワーディング方式の課題について議論する. |
| 抄録(英) | In intra-evolved UTRAN handover, the buffered downlink packets which can not be delivered to the mobile stations in the source base station are forwarded to target base stations in order to reduce the number of lost packets. In the target base station, the packets forwarded from the source base station would be overtaken by those received from its upper node. This results in out-of-sequence packet arrivals in the mobile station and thus causes significant degradation of TCP throughput. In order to prevent this problem, the packet reordering is performed in the mobile station. Though the impacts of the packet forwarding and the packet reordering on the TCP-transmission performance should be carefully considered for the system design, these have not been well investigated. In this paper, therefore, the behavior of the packet forwarding and its impact on the TCP-transmission performance are clarified by computer simulations. From the simulation results, the parameter settings of the packet reordering are studied and then a problem related to the packet forwarding on the TCP performance is discussed. |
