Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol is designed to achieve per-node fairness, so that all wireless stations accessing the wireless link share the bandwidth fairly. Therefore access points (APs) access the wireless link with the same authority as wireless terminals, even though APs aggregate several downlink flows and this feature leads to serious unfairness between uplink and downlink flows. Previously, we have proposed a simple solution to improve the fairness by means of adjusting the CW_ at the AP. In this paper, we conduct a simple mean field approximation to obtain the optimal CW_ theoretically. We validate the theoretical analysis by comparing it with several simulation experiments.
