Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To investigate the development model of the visual tracking ability in infancy, 465 children, from three to twelve years old, were examined by using the evaluation system of the movement function of upper limbs. The twelve parameters (mean and S.D.of the radial deviation, mean and S.D. of the angle deviation, mean and S.D. of the movement distance variability, the residual power of squares of the acceleration of x and y components, mean and S.D. of the pen pressure, mean and S.D. of the pen pressure variability) were calculated. Then, the factor analysis was applied against the ten of these parameters. As results, the four factors were estimated; the dexterousness of drawing, the stability of tremor, the stability of pen pressure and the dexterousness of tracking. It was found that the dexterousness of drawing and the stability of tremor were developed like hyperbolic curve against increasing of age, the stability of pen pressure was developed linearly until seven or eight years old and the dexterousness of tracking was developed before five years old and after ten years old. Therefore, it was suggested that the development of the visual tracking ability could be described by the four dimentional model.
