Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the study on the biological effects of ELF electric field, we have found the increase of surface blood flow near the area of field exposure. To find the characteristics and the mechanism of this phenomenon, a fundamental study was conducted. In quantitative analysis, the dose-response relation of this effect was obtained. The dependence of the blood flow increase on the field strength suggested the association to the neural response. In a defferent experiment, the possibility was shown that this physiological response is caused by the local reflex. To find the mechanism of this phenomenon, the electrical and the mechanical stimulations were separately applied to the body surface. The blood flow increase was caused by not the electrical but the mechanical stimulation in the electric field exposure.
