Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Emergency Warning System (EWS) is a broadcasting system which automatically activates receivers that are ready to receive such activation flag for alert broadcasting, and informs viewers and listeners of the alert information about disasters such as earthquakes or tsunami and so on. The EWS has also been operated in One-Seg service of digital terrestrial broadcasting. To realize automatic activation of One-Seg receivers with EWS, the potable One-Seg receiver needs always to watch the activation flag for alert broadcasting involved in TMCC (Transmission and Multiplexing Configuration Control) carrier. It causes a problem in a lifetime of the battery for portable One-Seg receivers. Therefore, we have studied the switching way for One-Seg tuner by synchronized timing with the activation flag, and obtained the prospect that power consumption can be decreased.
