Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a system that measures the surface spectral reflectance of a three-dimensional (3D) object and acquires a reflectance model function based on it. The measurement device, which consists of two robot arms, an eight-channel spectral lighting system and a monochrome digital camera, captures a set of spectral images for different directions of light incidence and camera view. A recursive algorithm is proposed for estimating from the spectral images the parameters of a surface reflectance model function at each point of the object surface. A calibration method is also proposed for registering the spectral image intensities in reference to the 3D object shape.
