Abstract(in English) We previously proposed wide area ubiquitous networks in which low-end terminals are accommodated by long-range low-bit-rate wireless links. Improper transmission control by the terminals rapidly degrades the saturation throughput and mean delay when the number of terminals in the coverage area is large. This paper proposes a new contention window adjustment algorithm for wide area ubiquitous networks and estimates its performance by computer simulations.
