Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates uplink and downlink system capacities of VoIP traffic carried by IEEE802.11b, a standard Wireless LAN interface, for a multi-cell scenario in 19-cell wrap around node layout. Simulation results show that high capacities are enabled by choosing the basic mode of IEEE802.11b's MAC and single-cell reuse. In order to enhance the system capacities, this paper proposes the continuous packet transmission and the adaptive contention widow control. Combining these methods can enlarge the system capacity by 15% in comparison with the IEEE802.11b being operated in the basic mode.
