Abstract(in English) Cooperative relaying is a promising technique, where terminals except source and destination share their resources to relay the data from the source terminal that achieves spatial diversity gain against fading. It has been reported that error rate can be improved by cooperative relaying in noise-limited systems. However, the use of cooperative relaying may decrease the system capacity. Because total interference power can be increased through the use of more than one transmitters during same time slot. In this paper, area spectral efficiency of interference-limited multihop networks are evaluated assuming cooperative relaying model consisting of a single source, single destination and single relay to be introduced into radio communication systems. Numerical results show that introduction of cooperative relaying increases the bandwidth efficiency and the area spectral efficiency compared to radio systems with single-hop transmissions.
