Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The authors have been studying advanced traffic control techniques embedded in customer-side equipment to achieve higher level network service quality and stable network operation. The proposed techniques realize flexible traffic control for large-scale networks taking account of individual user environment, network conditions and application traffic characteristics. This paper studies the application of the customer-side traffic control techniques to the wireless access environment. In order to adapt to the variation in wireless link conditions such as the link quality and the traffic load, this paper proposes an adaptive transmission rate control method which manages transmission and reception of traffic at the customer-side equipment in an autonomous and a self-controlled manner. The paper evaluates the proposed transmission rate control method under the practical mobile wireless environments and discusses the effectiveness of the proposed method.
