| Abstract(in English) | Human Media Creation Center (HMC) was established on 1996 for promoting the creation and development of new industry in Kitakyushu City with exploiting the information, communication and multimedia technology. In this year (2006), taking the opportunity of the 10th anniversary since the establishment, HMC has established Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Section in order to powerfully promote the activities related to the information and communications technology. This talk summarizes the HMC measure including developing various projects in which the ICT section and local research institutions cooperate, such as, managing Kitakyushu IT Open Laboratory representing a place where supporting the research and development activities for the information and communications technology by providing a environment allowing JGN2 users to seamlessly connect to JGN2 backbone network, carrying out 'Kitakyushu ICT intelligent area experiment' exploiting the downtown of Kitakyushu City as a experimental field, and so forth. |
