New Phase in Single-Flux-Quantum Electronics

Abstract(in English) The single-flux-quantum (SFQ) circuits have been studied as the ultra-high-speed, ultra-low-power circuits for about 10 years under the national projects. The design technology and fabrication technology has been developed for the subterahertz-operation. Based on these technologies, the development is just about to step into the new phase. In the phase, the passive transmission lines are used not only for interconnects between logic gates but also for inter-chip interconnects in order to pursue the real high-speed nature. In addition, the new phase is positioned as the stage to the real markets.
